ijji/ˈ/ was a free multiplayer game portal website. Games hosted at ijji ranged from traditional shooters and MMORPGs to more accessible casual games, all of which were free to download and play, and with the majority featuring competitive multiplayer gameplay. The ijji website opened on July 7, 2006.[1] The American-based game portal has published some well known worldwide titles that include Alliance of Valiant Arms, GunZ, and Soldier Front.

In 2009 ijji decided to focus more on the 'hardcore' gaming segment, by releasing titles like Alliance of Valiant Arms and Soul of the Ultimate Nation.[2] ijji later released Genesis A.D into open beta in November 2010.[3]

Thinking about playing Soldier Front? This is a video for the people who are strugling to find a good game. All of the videos I show are from FREE games. Original Title - SOLDIER FRONT. I have lenovo b490 intelcore i3 laptop.i can play before SOLDIER FRONT.but now i can't log in there. When logging in this text always appear on my monitor 'soldierfront.exe has stopped working' i don't know where or what is the problem.my video card is updated Intel(R) Graphics 3000. Computer says it is working properly =(.

ijji surpassed 10 million unique registered users in November 2009 and created a new logo for their game portal. The old orange ijji logo was replaced by a new metallic looking logo.[4] In this same month, all flash games on ijji.com that required no download were closed and removed from the game portal.[5]

In June 2011, ijji partnered up with Steam, the popular game distributing platform developed by Valve, and released Alliance of Valiant Arms as one of the free-to-play games available on Steam. This partnership allowed for the increasing of the community size of the free-to-play game portal. As a celebration, ijji gave away a free exclusive weapon, the British L8A52 rifle for new users who signed up on Steam.[6]

Starting on October 26, 2011, ijji removed the ability to sign up for a new ijji account. Instead, users will log in with their Facebook account to play ijji games. Existing users are still able to log in with their old accounts.

Acquisition of ijji[edit]

On January 5, 2012, NHN Corporation sold 100% stake of ijji to Aeria Games[7] who began to host ijji's core games (GunZ, Soldier Front, and Alliance of Valiant Arms). As of July 22, 2012, all ijji services were taken down. On July 23, 2012, account transfers were open for users to transfer existing account data to Aeria Games.

On May 5, 2013 Aeria announced the closure of GunZ by May 31, 2013.

As of January 29, 2016 Aeria Games has stopped supporting Soldier Front.

In 2016, Aeria Games stopped providing service for Alliance of Valliant Arms. The game was transferred to En Masse Entertainment.

In April 2018, En Masse Entertainment notified its users that the game servers would officially cease in June 2018.[8]

At the end of 2018, Red Duck Inc., the developer of A.V.A, stated that they would self publish a modified version of their most popular game, AVA, under the name AVA: Dog Tag on Steam.[9] After a period of beta testing, the project was closed in May 2019 as Red Duck Inc. ceased operations.[10]

Game modes[edit]

Single Battle[edit]

In the only deathmatch mode in SF, up to 16 players compete against each other in a free-for-all to reach a certain number of kills. The first person to achieve the number of kills wins the match.

Team Battle[edit]

Two opposing teams, the red and blue teams, set out to accomplish a certain mission. For example, common missions include planting/defusing a bomb or capturing/protecting a target, which are explained below. The Red Team always roleplays the part of the aggressor/terrorist faction; and Blue Team conversely acts as the defender faction. There are exceptions in dual operations, however. A team wins a round when it successfully accomplishes its specific goal. The overall winner of the game is determined by which team won the prerequisite number of rounds first.

The Blast Operation[edit]

The red team must plant a time bomb on one of the two blast points and ensure the detonation of the bomb or eliminate all opposing members of blue team to win the round. The blue team must defuse the bomb if it is planted or eliminate the red team to win the round.

The Capturing Operation[edit]

The red team must retrieve an item and return it a to designated 'safe zone', as well as kill all the opposing members of the blue team to win the round. The blue team must defend the objective for the set amount of time or kill all the members of the red team in order to win the round.

The Flee Operation[edit]

The red team must reach a preset 'safe zone' (usually on the far side of the map) or eliminate all the opposing members of the blue team to win the round. The blue team must eliminate the members of the red team before they reach the 'safe zone' in order to win the round.

The Dual Operation[edit]

The red team or the blue must acquire the objective and return it to their designated 'safe zone' to win the round. The teams may also kill all opposing members of the other team to win the round. Essentially, this mode is like Capture the Flag. Plus no team kills.

Captain Mode/Capture the captain mode[edit]

  • The captain mode is a mode where everybody gets a big head . All big headed soldiers have to be killed and the team who killed all the captains wins the round .
  • Capture the captain mode gives only one captain with a big head . In this mode the captain can drain health by shooting on enemy's . The team who kills the captain first wins . Sometimes there are multiple captains. So which ever team kills all the captains first wins.

Clan Battle[edit]

Essentially identical to Team battle; however the opposing teams are made up of members of opposing clans. Playing a Clan battle gives clan points, which raise the clan's ranks. Clan battles are officially done with both teams playing both sides of each map (red/blue) with 5 rounds each to determine the win % out of 10 total rounds.

The No Sniper Mode[edit]

The No Sniper mode is enabled only in VIP rooms. Single, Team, and Clan battles may be chosen with this option. If this mode is chosen, sniper rifles may not be used for any specific purpose throughout in the battle at any time.

Team Death Match[edit]

The Team Death Match, AKA TDM, is quite different to the other modes. To win, you and your team must achieve 100 points. Each normal kill gains you 2 points, and grenade, knife, headshot and hitlist kills gains you 3. Double kills give you and extra 2 points (4) and multi an extra 3 (5), etc. Hitlist is when you are killed by the same person 3 times without you killing them, you are able to see his/her location until you kill him/her. When you die, you respawn at base approx. 5 seconds later. Currently there are the Factory, Desertcamp, and Nighthawk maps. Another thing about TDM is that it does change your Kill death rate, win/loss rate, insignificantly. However, if you leave, you will still lose some weapon durability.

Horror Mode[edit]

In this mode the counter will start when everybody is loaded and can walk . After 10 seconds a host will be chosen . The host is a monster controlled by a normal player and he has to kill everybody . The peoples who got killed will stand up out of death and they are zombies . They have to help the host to kill everybody to the last player .

Sniper mode[edit]

In this gamemode the player only may use a sniper .There are a few rooms you may choose from and the maps are most of the time big maps .
